Herbariumi i Fakultetit të Shkencave Matematike-Natyrore të Universitetit të Prishtinës tani njihet
ndërkombëtarisht dhe ka shkurtesën zyrtare “UPH” (nga University of Prishtina - Herbarium). Falë
angazhimit serioz dhe punës së përkushtuar nga udhëheqësi i Herbariumit të FShMN-së Prof. dr.
Elez Krasniqi dhe Asst. Dr. Naim Berisha, herbariumi ynë tani është i indeksuar në Index
Herbariorum. Kjo është një databazë ndërkombëtare me seli në New York të Shteteve të Bashkuara
të Amerikës e cila regjistron dhe validon Herbariumet shkencërisht të vërtetuara në nivel global.
Me këtë njohje, mostrat bimore të depozituara dhe ato që do depozitohen në të ardhmen në UPH do
jenë të citueshme dhe plotësisht të vlefshme për hulumtime shkencore dhe raportime, prej së cilës do
të kenë përfitime të dukshme shkencat e natyrës dhe në veçanti ato të fushës së botanikës në Kosovë.
Kjo është një arritje e rëndësishme për komunitetin e hulumtuesve të botanikës në vend.

The Herbarium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Prishtina is
now internationally recognized and has the official acronym “UPH” (from University of Prishtina -
Herbarium). Thanks to the serious commitment and dedicated work of the head of the Herbarium of
the FMNS Prof. dr. Elez Krasniqi and Asst. Dr. Naim Berisha, our herbarium is now indexed in
Index Herbariorum. This is an international database based in New York, United States of America,
which registers and validates scientifically verified Herbariums globally.
With this recognition, the plant vouchers deposited and those that will be deposited in the future at
the UPH will be citable and fully valid for scientific research and reporting, from which the natural
sciences and in particular those in the field of botany in Kosovo will have significant benefits. This is
an important achievement for the botanical research community in the country.
